Eduard Khil

Russian media is reporting that Eduard Khil has passed away on Monday. He suffered a stroke back in April and has been hospitalized ever since. He was 77. The internet made him famous as Mr. Trololo.

Eduard and the song “I am very glad, because I’m finally back home” was a huge internet phenomenon about two years back. Before his death he embraced the resurgence of his popularity and there are numerous videos out there of interviews with him.

Bottom line, the song still makes me smile every time I hear it. There aren't a lot of things in this world that can do that.  RIP Eduard Khil.
